WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. After he had been xun over by a motor-car he was endeavouring to start, Dalrae Walker, 14-year-old son "of Mr : and Mrs A. Walker, Makaretu, was ad.mitted 'to the District Hospi,tal, Waipukurau, suff ering from a compound 'f ractiire' of . the thigh. His eohdition was repqrted Nto-night as Teasonably satisfactory. The accident occurred at Makaretu on Friday. The engine of the car would not start, but the vehicle suddenly freewheeled forward, knocking the- boy down.. A -wheel passed over his leg and he was dragged some distance. Mrs • Gilbert Severinsen, for whoin the boy was working at the time, heard his calls and a dorctor1 was summoned.'
