JOCKEY INJURED
Three Horses Fall at Napier Park Races ACCIDENTAL OCCURRENCE As the canaidates were swung round the home' turn in the Trial Stakes at the Napier Park races on Saturday, three horses fell, the first being Tommy Atkins, who brought down Quimper, and Wilful Lady. Tommy Atkins was ridden by the apprentice, C. Plier, who saifered the worst of the three faflen horsemen and after examination, was sent by ambulance to the Napier Public Hospital. He is not seriously„injure& and may be dischargeof by the end of the week.
L. Cullen, another apprentice, was well efiough to ride later in the day, but the well-know'n jockey, H. Young, had to forego mounts on Rea&anablu, Gold Chase and Lacquer. The judicial committee, at the instigation of the stipendiary steward present, Mr N. Sandilands, held an inquiry, to come to the following finding; "The cause of the accident was that Tommy Atkins lost his feet making the turn and fell, the othjr two hrrses falling over him, The occurrence was accidental, and was in no way contributed to be any other horse Or rider in the race oy to any fault in the course, whieh, on inspeetion, was found to be in good order."
