Maintaining Depths INSTRUCTION TO ENGINEER At the montbly meeting of the Napier Harbour Board to-day the works eommittee reported having met a deputotion of the various parties interested In. the lightering industry, when the depths at the Inner Harbour were diseussed. The latter said they would be satisEed if the depths experienced during the past two years were maintained, but espressed fears that the operation of the Ahuriri lagoon flood-gates and other factors might detrimentally affeet the position in the future. The cominittee reeommended that the engineer be instrueted to put the dxedge J.B.O. on overtime, if and when it becomes necessary to do so, in .order to maintain the esisting depths.
