60,000 Women at Italian Display On Child Welfare
EOME— Some 60,000 women of every eiass of society and from every part of Italy came to Rome for tbe opening of tbe Cbild Welfare exbibition, in tbe' cxtensive area of tbe Circus Maximum under the Palatine Hill. Pcasant women were attired in tbeir local costymes. Tbe Chjld' Welfare exbibition was organized by tbe Fascist Party to sbow tbe work accomplisbed by tbo Fascist regime in fostering education of tbe youth of tbe natiou. Tbere are 11 pavilioiis at tbe exbibition. One shows numerous paintings and seulptural works taken from tbe chief picture galleries and museums of Italy to illustrate tbe inspiration of children to artists ; in another are illustrated various activities for tbe assistance of children. One special section sbows tbe measures taken by the Fascist Government to combat alcohoiism. f Anotbfer pavilion illustrates tbe work done for tbe training of minors and anotber relates to scbools, wbile special sections are set apart for tbe summer colonies organized by the local authoritifes. Tbe Balilla pavilion sbows tbe various activities for tbo assistance of youth in bygienic, cultural and physical education and in military training. Adjoining tbe exbibition is a large amusdment park, wbicb appears to attract tbe children 's attention more tban tbe exbibition itself.
