Prizes to Waipukurau Competitors

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. The prize list at the Wanganui Agricultural and Pastoral Society 's Show, which opened on Tuesday, contains a number of Waipukurau horses and riders. Darcy Redstone, of Waipukurau, was placed second in the class for the best boy rider and Mr Ian Bradbury was adjudged the best man rider. Master Bruce Bousfield's Flirt won first prize for pony, 13 hands or under, first in the pony jump and second in the open pony jump. Mr A. W. Parsons 's Tuakaua (ridden by Mr Bradbury) won the West Coast hunters' jumping championship for the second time in succession^ thereby winning the Dewar Imperial Silver Challenge Oup outright. Tuakaua also won the open leaping competition. First prize in the class for hack, 15 stone, was awarded to Miss D. Bousfield's Mako. The same horse was placed first in the wire jump (hunting style), with Miss Mary Wall's Ililaria second. In the steeplechase-style jump Hilaria secured first place.
