Lorry Strikes Car. A head-on collision between a- car and a lorry in the Argyll district resulted in Mrs Bird, the driver of the ear, sustaining an injured knee. The radiator and other parts of the car were damaged, and the vehicle had to be towed to a Waipukurau garage. The mishap occurred while the driver of the car was trying to avoid sheep. Stop-bank and Stock Route. At a meeting of Farmers' Union representatives held in Waipukurau, the chairman, Mr O. R. Edgecombe, brought up the matter of interference and meonvenience caus«d to stock by the stopbank being erected by the Public Works Departmeut. After a discussion the following motion was carried: — "That this meeting of representatives of all branches in Central liawke's Bay wishes to register a protest against the present lay-out of the stock route from the southern end of the trafiic bridge to the stock yards, and strongly supports the protest already made by the Associated. Stock and Station Agents of Waipukurau. This meeting considers that the Public Works Department should meet representatives from all bodies interested, on the site immediately, to discuss the matter before the 1 work is completed." , Piremen's Back Pay.
