4 Contrast with County CounciFs Comment Contrasting sharply with the comment passed at the last meeting of the Hawke's Bay County Council regarding vehicular traffic on People 's Day of the Hawke's Bay.3pring Show the Borough Traffic Inspector, Mr 1>. Mann, in his monthly report to ~the Hastings Borough Council last evening mentioned that, "despite increased traffic, the control was considered to be an improvement upon previous eilorts. lteporting upon the subject he stated:— 'Tho number of cars attending the Spring Show on People 's l)ay ex» ceeded 3,S00. This number has never been equalled in any previous year and the 10 men employed on 'point duty' at the major' intersections were fuRy engaged on both days. "Complimentary remarks have been made regarding tho control of this exceptioual volume of traffic, the control of which was said to have been much better thau anything previously attempted, with less congestion and no accidents," he concluded.
