Zealand's band championship contest, to be held at Palmerston North next February, Mr Bryant raentioned that for the first test selection "Nadeslida," by Horing Thomas had been chosen and the piece for the seeond test was "Stabart Mater," by Rossini. "We have not decided yet what will be our choice for the march and the hymn, he said. The opinion that neither of the two selections chosen was auyway near as difficult as one selected last year was voiced by Mr Bryant, but, for all that, he considered the two pieces quite the best that have* .been chosen for B grade contests for a number of years.
