The golden thread talk was on Canada Miss R. Lissette giving a very able . description of this vast eountry. After the business portion of *hc programme had been disposed of Mrs L'oothill gave a fine demonstration of barbola work, and several specimens were handed round for inspection. The demonstrator received many thanks for '•er trouble, The competition for a pound jar of viarmalade resulted: Mrs Stanford 3, tf Mitehell 2, Mrs A. Bartle 3; tL" :-»st blooms in the garden resulted: ftl:'ss Howard 's Oriental Poppy 3, Miss LJ:.vrick's ranunculus and Mrs Craw i'oid's nemesia 2 equal and Mrs H-.nv ^id's peony rose 3.
