The sum of ,£2500 was asked, but the jury awarded £497 10/- only Mr W. Selwyn Averill appeared for the plaintiff,. and Mr H. B. Lusk for the defendant. It was stated when the case began that the liability for the accident was admitted by the defendant and that the sum of £694 13/- had been agreed upou as special'damages.
