Monthly Meeting Held at Napier STOVES IN STATE HOUSES Advjco was received .by the Hawke's Bay Electrio Power Board at'yesterday's meeting tlhat there Tvas no intentioh by. the Ministry of Housing at present of increasing'the percentage of eleetrie stoves to be installed in State houses in the Board's area. This^ intimation was the reply to a letter written to the Director;of- Housing by Mr H. H. Wylie, secretary-manager of the board, asking that more than 50,'per eent. of the houses be fitted with electrci xanges, and detailing strong reasons in support .of. the claim. ^ The letter was. received, it being doeided to make furtlier representations when further tariff reductions wero being. considered in May". i Bess than three-quarters of an. hour sufficed to dispose of the ordinary business of the 'board. ; Mr . T. E. Orosse presided over a full attendance. . Mr J. Hewetson wTote. asking when the board would be starting the reticulation of the Maraekakaho Valley area. Mr Wylie stated that he had replied that the line .would be flagged and probably pegged before Chri&tmas and that' the rest *o'f the work" would' be started inside twelve months, this work being- well- aihead 'of the original pjrogramme.. ■ ' :.A -letter from Mr G. The engineer, Mr H. L. Benjamin, reporting on construction work, stated that on the Waimarama line all the main line poles and 11,000 volt lines and substations had been completed, as well as the distribution lines in the township. Thore remained only the service lines to be erected, and this section would be livened up in approximately two weelc's time.' At Marewa block a to^al of 16 poles and necessary lines had been erected for temporary supply and • for the use of the contractorg on the construction of the State houses. These lines would be used permanently for future supply from.a new sub-station to be erected at a later, datc.
