From a good start, after a few minutes delay, the lirst to show out was Le Toquet, who led narrowly from Felicitation, Gfanvale, Thala, Fossicker, Hamarin and Joe Louie. Beforo coming to the four furlong post Fossicker had run up to join Le Toquet m the lead, closely attended by Granvaie, Felicitation, Thala, oe Louis, Hamarin and Gaelic Song. From the half-mile bead to the straight Fossicker had dropped back into tbird position behind Le Toquet and Granvaie, while behind Fossicker came Gaelic Song, Joe Louis, 'tLamariu, Felicitation and Thala. In an mteresting finieh Fossicker got home lirst «by a neck, with a similar distanco tetween Felicitation and Granva'le for sepond and third. Hamarin was fourth, Le Toquet flfth and Larwood sixtk. At the far turn Reasonable had joined Tommy Atkins m the lead, closely followed by Oha, Haile Selassie, King's Hope, Star Lad and Jaeynth. Tommy Atkm's was lirst to enter the straight juet ahead of Reasonable, Golden Memory, Mahutai, Oha and Fower Ohief. (Winner trained by owner, Hastings), The six runners got away without any delay, and over the first furiong all were in line, but passing the wiq,ning post the first time Buster Brown ! led from Gay Hunter, Soho, Pladie, Maine and Royal Minstrei. Down the back Bhster Brown, wide out, held command from Gay Hunter, Soho, Pladie, and Royal Minstrei. To the half-mile post there was practically no alter-' ation in the running order although the field became more bunched, and in the next two/furlongs tho favourite began to lmprove his position. Entering the home turn the field fanned to maka them all in a line. Royal Minstrei put in his elaim with a clearing to go on and win nicely by half a length, from j Buster Brown with Soho a head aw. third, then came Gay Hunter and "Alaine, with Pladie last. The scratehing of Diana Tetrix left only four runners for this ' juvenile event and after a short delay the| quartette were despatched on even terms with Jeanne taking up the role of pacemaker followed by Laughing Song, Merry Simon and Sweepalong. This order was maintained to the home bend when Merry Simon supplanted Laughing Song for second position. Jeanne was not seriously troubled to run home a winner ,by half a length from Merry Simon, while Laughing Song was a lehgth back third, well clear of the other xunner. Time, 56 secs, EPSOM HANDICAP. The amateur riders took some little time to get on their way and when the barrier did go up four of the dontegtants were jumbled up for a few yards with the first to show up Aubb, who led from Lacquer, Cletrae, and Beechgrove, but after passing the stands the first time Lacquer went to ; the front and led out of the straight from Aube, Cletrae and Beechgrove. Down the back the first three wero still in that order, but Tres Sec had gone up into fourth. At the half mile bend Dods on Aube rushed away to the front and soon established a good lead to lead into the straight from Lacquer, Umpire, Tres Sec, Cletrae, Parry, and Beechgrove, the IafEer pair being together last, Umpire gradually overhauled Aube to win by a neck with two lengths back to Lacquer. Slippery was away like a shot" and very soon had a distinct lead over Fossicker, Bunfight, Flame Queen, Sir Nigel and Pakanui, tho latter getting the worst of the jump off but he quickly ran up on the outside of bis field to be tueked in behind Slippery at the half-mile, when the others were in this order, Flame Queen, Bunfight, Fossicker and Sir Nigel. In the next two furlongs there was little alteration but Fossicker was rather wide out and covering .much extra distance. Slippery was the first to turn for home from Pakanui, Flame Queen, Fossicker and Bunfight. Slippery disputed every inch oi' the ground with Pakanui and it took the latter all he knew how to get homehy a neck. Fossicker was three lengths back third and Flame Queeu fourth, Bunfight fifth and Sar Nigel whipperin„ Time, 1.20.

The first colours to be discerned on the release ' of the barrier were those of Son and Heir, Marsyas, Winitanga,, Geira and Pukehou but before a furlong and a half had been traversed Geira, wide out, had rushed to the front to pilot Marsyas, Son and Heir, Pukehou, Winitangi and Gasman round the far turn. Geira was still there, and still wide out, too, entering the home stretch being attended by Son and Heir, Marsyas, Pukehou and Gasman. The latter then made his bid and ridclen with good judgment, got up in time, to beat Mursvas in n good linish by a neck witli Son .and Heir half a length back third. Geim -fras fourth.
