ESKDALE GATHERING

At this month's meeting of the Eskdale W omen' s Institute the motto read was "lt is not what xve have that makes us of real importance in the world/ but what we are.'' Tlio monthly competition was "The largest number of articJes packed in a matcli box" and resulted: Mrs. Saunders 1 with 152, Miss Blair 2 and Miss Conway 3. The best bloom competition was won by Miss Blair with Mrs. Saunders second and Mrs. King third. Arrangements were made for a birthday evening next "week. An amusing article was read by Mrs. King. The committefe acted as hostesses and after tea a general spring-cleaning of Institute matters took place. The final W.% card party for the sea,6on was held ,at Mrs. Conway's residence. Winners of cards were Miss Wilson and Mr» Olds. An amusing peanut competition was won by Mrs. King.
