Tangoio Meeting
• The birthday meeting of the Tangoio Women' s Institute was held at the residence of the president, Mrs. Lowe,' there being a good attendance of members. The meeting opened with the institute Song and necessary business was quickly dealt with. Husbands were then invited to join the party and a very happy evening was spent by all, with games and community singing. Mesdames Jessep and Orr and Messrs. Urr and Ford acted as accompanists. A delightful supper was °served by the ladies, the birthday cake being cut by Mrs. Osborne, a past preSident, aiter the candles had been lit by the president and blown out by little Berns Pepper. The various competitions resulted as follows : — Peamit competition, Mr. and Miss jessep 1, Miss Jackson and Mr. Orr 2 ; mystery parcel, Miss Jessep ; dressed dollj Miss Jackson ; sweets, Mrs Hanna 1, Mrs. Orr 2; best bloom, Mrs. Osborne 1, Miss Conway 2. After a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Lowe for their hospitality th© eveuing was reluctantly brought to a close witli the singing of "Auld Lang cjyno.''
