WANGANUI GIRL WEDS HASTINGS RESIDENTS' SON
McINTOSH— CAMPBELL The wedding was celebrated at Christ Church, Wanganui, on Tuesday afternoon, of Margaret, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Campbell, of Mangaweka, and formerly of Wanganui, to Ian, son of Mr. D. M. Mclntosh, of Hastings. The bride is a descendant of some. of the earliest pioneers ih the Wanganui district. The church was filled with friends, who had gathered from all parts of the North Island, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Archdeacon J. R. Young, Mr. F. Wentworth Slater playing the wedding music. The bride entered the church with her father. Her gown was of gleaming magnolia satin, cut on simple lines with bodice featuri a square neckline draped on cowi ^iTect and long sleeves close-fitting to the elbow and finished with tiny. satin buttons. Cut on the bias the skirt formed a point in the centrQ front and flared to give the fashionable backward fullness, the back panel tap.ering from a point above the waistline. ended in a long fan-shaped train. The veil, a mass of shimmering tiille, was affixed to a charming arrangement of gardenias, and fell to form a second train. She carried a lovely shower bouquet of cream roses and lily-of-the-valley with streams of satin ribbon. An effective colour scheme of eau-de-nil -green with touches of lavender was formed by the gowns of the three bridesmaids, Miss Betty McLaren, of Wellington, Miss Joan Graham, of Wanganui, and Miss Mary Grumitt, of Marton. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. R. Humphrey, of Pongaroaj Wairarapa, and the groomscnen were Mr. F. Menzies, of Hastings, and Mr. V. W. Fullerton-Smith, of Marton. Messrs. Bob Graham and Frank D'Arey were the ushers. More than 100 guests* attended the reception, which was . held in the lounge at Foster's Hotel, which had been arranged for the occasion with masses. of lovely flowers. Friends of the' bride 's parents, Mrs. C. G. .Ross, Mrs. P. Graham, Mrs. Maurice Camppell, Mrs. D. Wilkie, and helpers were respqnsible. for the lovely floral decorations. The bride 's mother had chosen a smart, three-piece model ensemble patterned in navy and white with a white pleated georgette ruffle on the neck and a contrasting border on the tunic, and fmger-length coat. Her hat was a plain navy Bankok straw, with a chromium ornament, and she carried a dainty hand bouquet of lily-of-the-valley, edged with fern and finished with Ameriman green cellophane ribbon. The bridegroom's stepmother, Mrs. Mclntosh, was attired in an antique green costume with a fagotted beige georgette blouse. She wore a brown cellophone straw toque with a toning tulle swaithed band finishing in a bow and adorned with a posie of flowers in a deep bronze shade. Her hand bouquet was of deep apricot and rich bronze velvety pansies surrounded with copper beech leaves, and finished with gold .ribbon. Included among the guests were ths bride 's grandmother, Mrs. Aldridge, -of Taihape, and the bridegroom's aunt, Miss Mclntosh, from Masterton.
