Monthly Meeting of Committee

. WAIPAWA, Last Night. The monthly meeting of the Waipawa District High^ School Committee was held last evening. Present: — Messrs. S. W. Strang (chairman), V. A. Patterson (secretary), G. Taylor, E. Hutchings, Mrs. Adeane, and the headmaster (Mr, It. C. Adlam). Leave of absence was granted Mrs. Preston. The chairman, secretary . and headmaster were empowered to carry out necessary work on the new school ground. The chairman thanked members of the .committee, the headmaster, and staff for their co-operation in making the school sports a success. The secretary , TepoTted that the ice-cream and soft-drinks stall had returned a profit of £3 15/61' Authority was given for the purchase of miniature cups to accompany the championship sports ' trophies, the niatter being left in the hands of tho chairman. A vote of thanks was passed. to the 011 Papils' Assoeiation. for their . donation of 30/- for a* tennis cup, and to Mr. J. Bibby for a donation of 10/- to the .sports prize fund. The headmaster reported on the attendance as follows: — Primary, roll 204, average 165; secondary, roll 66, average 62.
