Provision would be xnade for.' a loud speakIr in eacli room, and also for a microphone' and loud:speaker • outdoors -for Use in connection wtih parades and sports gatherings. The estimated. cost of the installation . was a little over £100. Mr.Dunn gave particulars of the installations at the Napier Girls' High SeShool, the Mahora Sfehool, and the proposed installation at- the Napier Boys' High School, stating . that the cost of each of thcse installations was much larger than for the' scherne outlined by Mr Vinton. He stressed the importance of prompt decision so that provisiori could be made as the building progressed for plaeing the loud-speak-ers in posxtoon. It would mako for a .mueh.more satisfactory job and the cost of installation would be less. After various features of the scherne 'had been discussed the chairman cordially thanked Messrs Dunn and Vinton for their co-operation and advice. Mr Critchley associated himself with this vote " of appreciation . and strongly advised the committee to lose no -tixnc in launching a campaign for the necessary f.nance.. He pointed out that some years ago the late Mrs Bibby had put forward a proposal to instal a wireless in the school, but it was then felt that it would be unwise to expend money until the new school was crocted. The.- committee subssquently decided to approaeih the board, aslcing that provision be made in the new building for the installation of the system, and a special meeting of the committee wili be held to discuss ways and means for giving effect to tho scheme.
