KOTEMAORI MEETING
The nsual monthly . meeting • of the Kotemaori Women's Institute was held in the hall on November 4, .one new member being ,-welcomed. : The meeting opehed with the reading of the Aspirations by Mrs. Harris, the president. Thia being ' 'Members' ilay," the \busxness was dealt with and the president then called on two m'embers to take charge for the reinainder; of the aftemoon. Miss JVlonteith took the chair and Mrs. ' McKay acted aa secretary. The acting president then welcomed Mrs. Foster, a very keen member }vho has been ill in hospital, and wished her a speedy recovery. The Golden Thread was v.ontinued by Mrs. L. Jones, her subject was "Humour, and much. laughter wai caused. Mrs. Bee gave her garden circie report. A talk on Homo Science, prepared by the Hoipe Science Department, Otago University, Bunedin, was given by Mrs. Harris, and was' greatly appreciatcd by all members, Mrs Harris was then presented with a rose bowl and Mrs. Poster with a vase f or securmg most points in .the yearly competitions. The monthly "'competitiohs wero as follows: — Fraxned almanao picture, Mrs Haliburton 1, Miss' Haliburton 2; bestdressed 3d ,doll,Mrs. Harris 1, and Mrs. LSee was the jvdnner of the amusement competition. Members were then entertained: with music and songs by Miss Monteith. Mrs. Harris and Mrs. I(. Jones then served afternoon tea and the singing qf the National Anthem concluded the meeting. . «
