FALSE DEDUCTIONS

/ (British Official Wireless.)

Rumoured Visit of Britisli Official to Hungary

(Received 6, 8.45 a.m.) * IUGBY, Nov. 4. Reports which have been given mucV prominence in the Press of more tha* one European country of an impending visit to Hungary by the Permanent Under SeffiT&xy of State for Foreign Affairs, Sir Robert Vansittart, are without foundation. Yarious theories as to the political moves and developments of spec'ial significance, which have been based on these reports, are also devoid of truth. No such visit is contemplated. A possible .explanation of fhe rumourg is that Captain Guy Yansittart is shortly going to Hungary, which he has visited on numerous occalsions in ths past, for shooting. He has never had any part in politics or connection with diplomacy. It is apparently on this flimsy foundation that an elaborato strufiturC of false deductions has been built up, and in London it is felt that there is an obvious moral. The . already difficult situation which confronts statesmen -in Europe will not be iniproved and at any moment might be made dangerou'sly worse by ths publication of sensational speculationa basefl oh uuverified rumour
