Scholars At Stock Sale. The stock sale at Waipukurau on Tuesday was attended by a' party of pupils from the Waipawa Distriet High School. Notes were inade by the scholars, who found the visit interesting and informative. Dannevirke Stock Sale. Although the attendance of buyers was smaller than usual, prices obtained. at the Dannevirke stock . sale yesterday were well on a .par with recent rates, except for a few lines of station cattle for which there were few buyers present.- Some exceptionally good hoggets and wethers were- off ered in the fat sheep section and. these created keen competition. Good, dairy cows in milk sold at between. £8 . and £9. Norsewood Ladies' Guild. There Was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Norsewood Methodist Ladies' Guild, held at the residence of Mrs. F. Read, of Garfield. Mrs. H. P. Mortensen presided, and Mrs. A. Olsen opened the meeting with a reading. After the business had been dealt with Mrs. Read gave an interesting demonstration on the -baking of a sponge, followed by Mrs. Mearing very capably demonstrating the ' making of flake paatry. Both were accorded "a hearty vote of thanks. A letter was read from the trustees of the church, expressing their thanks and appreciation of the splendid effort finalised last month by the Ladies' Guild. It wa£ decided to hold the next meeting at the residence of Mrs. Mortensen,. when a demonstration on the making of waff'les with eleterieity will be given. Afternoon tea brought a very pleasant meeting to a close. Wairoa Herd Testiag.
