Wood, Inspector of Ea*, tories at Napier, who left this morning on promotion for Hamilton, -was yesterdav tendered a farewell by severaJ business men and local orsanisations in the town. Those present expressed regret at the departure of a capablo officer. and appreciation of his work in Napier. . 1 'Tlie Mayor, Mr. C. O. Morse, who presided, and others spoke in glowing terms of Mr. Wood's work, and extended a welcome to his suceessor, Mr. W. J, Berryman, oi Nelson.
