PLAY-READING AFTERNOON AT HASTINGS WOMEN'S CLUB
Members of the Hastings Women's Community Club were excellently entertained yesterday afternoon when members of the play Teading cilrcle gave a special xeading of tbe three-aet play "Milestones," by Arnold Bennett and Edward Knobloclc. i The cust was as follow: J"ohn Rhead, Miss Helen Ford; Gert-j rude Ehead,* Mrs H. Pym, Mrs H. Lovell-Smith;- Richard Sibley, Mrs Hedley Harvey; the parts of Thompson and Welbster andv the directions were read by Mrs O. C. Moller. During an interval between acts afternoon tea was enjoyed in' the adjourning room. Mrs ,H. Lovell-Smith reminded members of the garden party to.be.held: at the home of the club' president, Mrs T. H. Lowry, Okawa, Hastings, on November 24. She also mentioned that Mrs Kenneth Gordon, who was the representative from the Federated Clubs at the recent Pan-Pacifie Conference at Yancouver, would probably be speaking at the club at the end of November or early in December ■ and she • asked members to keep this visit in mind. as Mrs Gordon was an interesting and de-. lightful speaker. . . ..
