Meeting oi Matapiro Branch A meeting of the Matapiro branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held in the Otamauri school on October • 28, when thero was a moderate attendance, Mr W. L. Nelson presiding. The main discussions took place on the subjects of Arbitration Court awards as affiecting farmers, compensated prices, annual valuations of buildings for fire iusurance cover, and the necessity of lifting the foot-and-mouth disease embargo. Remits concerning the two latter are being forwarded for consideration by the Hawke's Bay provincial executive.
