Little comment was made, the circular being "received.'' The letter asked that differences with the Housing Bepartment as regards subdivisions and hy-iaws, be settled amlcalbly, as wkovmef possible, the departm^it would gend an officer to meet the local ho.dies concerned. Where sueh settiements eould not he #o effected the Government wa# bringing down 'lejgisiation whereby matters in dispute might be refeyred to the Town-Plan-niug Board for settlement. The association urged thht in view of the definite housing short age, local bodies sheuld he reasonable in their demands on the department and not ventilate diffieultiea ln the Press where they may b© taken up hy outsider# and gtven a ppliticai eofour. "This is just a general circular," said the Mayor, Mr C. 0. Morse, in answer to a question by hkr M. 8. Spencp.
