(Received 2, 1.55 p.m.) LONDON, Nor. 1. • Declaring that the rise in the cost of living was due to the Government' s deliberate restriction of aupplies, the Labou'r member Mr Dalton, in the House of Commons, said' that ihe Labour Party woulfl welcome an increase in home-grown foodstuffs. It had no objection to eubsidies. .. "A very able Minister from New Zealand, Mr Nash, recently offered to send to England unlimited dairy products, and suggested that New Zealand after deducting freigbts ahd other costs would devote the rest of the exchange obtained in the purchase of British manufactures," he added. "It was a wonderfully good offer, but the Government turned it down. We would have a valuable market for- manufactures and an increasing supply of foodstuffs. This action is typical of the Government' s policy of planned ceareity."-
