Overseas Trade Figures for Nine Months 1MPORTS INCREASING

WELLINGTON, This Day. The activity in the overseas trade of the Dominion is shown in the liigli level of exports and imports for the September period figures for which were issued yesterday by the Customs Department. Exports for the nine months ended Septmber 30 were valued at £55,284,000, a level equal to that of a normal year. With three months still to go, the export figure for the calendar year should establish an easy record. Imports for the nine months were valued at £41,982,000, an increase of £10,171,000 over those for the coresponding period of last year, and £15,526,000 in excess of the imports for the nine months of 1935. Imports for the month were valued at £5,403,000, an increase of about £1,000,000 compared with those for September of last year, and £2,234,000 in excess of those for September 1935.
