Annual Meeting of Society ELECTION OF OFFICERS The most enthusiastic meeting in the history of the Hawke's Bay Little Theatre Society was held last evening when the president, Mr J. D. H. Baehanan, presided over nearly 40 members who attended the annual meeting. Speaking to the report, the chairman said that it was most pleasing to noto that the enembership had increasod by 37, bringing the total now to 129. Actually there had been 55 new members enrolled during the year, but there had been 18 resignations. This position indicated the inereased popularity in the activities of the society. Only one play was produced during the year and this had shown a small financial loss. Other activitieB, however, had prov'ed most snccessful and the season generally had been a really enpoyable one. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr H. M. Campbell; president, Mr J. D. H. Buehanan; committee, . Mesdames J. D. H.' Buchanan. W. Nelson, T. Kolly, and W. A. Maitland; Messsrs E. E. Rivers, P. E. Clifton, H. B. Campbell, and Mx Greenwood; hon. seeretary and treasurer Mr G. Hardenburg. During an informal discussiOn on gen- . eral matters of interest to members, the chairman sfated that the outgoing com mittee had appointed Mr Leon Fail as honorary producer for the balance of the season and for next season. • This action was endorsed by the meeting. A vote of appreciation for past services was granted to the retiring seeretary, Mr P. E. Clifton, and also to all those who in any way assisted the BOciety througliout tbe jrear,
