Foodstuffs, rubber goods and textiles are becoming scarcer every week. Gredit expansion and Germany Ts ienonnous paper currency are' a constant menace, and price rises are there* fore inevitable. The ' authorities say that the causes aTe beyond their eon- , trol and that the 25 per cent advance in the prices of raw materials is irremediable because Germany has been deprived of her colonies.
