First Round of Waipukurau Cliib's Championship

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. On the Mt. Vernon raiige during the week-end the members of the Waipukurau Defence Rifle Club. fired off the first round .of the club championship and Mr A. W. Parson's trophy., Conditions for shooting were not of the best, a strong wind and a glaring iigfit making it very hard at intervals., However, under the conditions, good cards were handed in. Rifleman J. A. Chambers registered a possible at 500 yards. After the 900 yards range practice had been fired it was found a shoot-off would take place between Riflemen Tjnney ahd White. In the shoot-off the former was the winner, with a total of 162. The winning card over the same ranges in the first shoot last season was 158, The following are the details of this week-end shoot
