HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL

Hastings and District Scots' Society The Hastings and District Scot's Society entertained the i children of members of the society to a party on Friday in the Oddfellows' Hall. The function was the annual Hallowe'en festival. There were about 50 children present and a number. of parents and older members attended. Chief P. J. Priest, presided. Games, dancing and community singing were indulged in, and the following contributed items: — Violin solo, Master Bruce Priest; dance, Miss Jean McCue; song, Master Hugh Priest; song, Master Leggett; reeitation, Miss Sykes. Following. a supper of fruit salad, cakes, sandwiches, ice cream, soft drinks, lollies, came the "dooking" for apples in the tubs. A fey more games, and, on Chief Priest calling for three cheers to the ladies who had helped, "Auld Lang Syne" brought the party to a close. , Miss Collins and Mr T. Maloney provided the piano music and Mr T,.Bell the pipc muatie.
