TRAFFIC OFFENCES
Owners of Straying Stock Fined NAPIER COURT CASES Prosecutions for allowing stock . to roam on the Napier-Taup0 road were broUght by Traffic Inspectdr J. H. R. bemple, before Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Napier Magistrate's Court this morning. Light fines were imposed as warnings, the Bench commenting upon the danger of the practice. Mrs. I. C. Conrad was fined £1 and 10/- costs, and Ruruarau Hiha, of Bay View was fined £1 with 15/- costs for the offence. Jack Scuilin, of Korokipo, teamster, was, fined £1, costs 10/-, for driving a car without a licence. Cases lieard upon the information of lnspector Semple were as follow : — Allan Kelly, a motor driver, of Taupo, was fined £2 with 10/ costs for operating a heavy motor vehicle with defective brakes. Aiden Celestine Potlian, of Te Pohue, was fined £2 with 10/- costs for driving an unlicensed motor vehicle. On information laid by the Napier Borough Traffic lnspector, Mr." A. M. Oliver, the following fines were imposed: — For failing to give way to traffic from the right, A. E. Wakely, of Napier, butcher, was fined £1 with 14/- costs.. G. Quinney, df Hastings, salesman, was fined 10/- with 10/- costs for driving a car without a tail light, and was urdered to pay 10/- costs for driving a car with one number plate missing. Frank Edward Brett, of Napier, painter, was fined £1 10/- with 10/costs for speeding. Walter Henry Hughes, of Rissington, stora^keeper, was fined 10/- without costs upon a voluntary appearance for parking in a prohihited area.
