Count Nearly Completed DEFENCE MINISTER'S POSITION (Received 1, 8.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 31. The Federal election count as far as the House of Representatives is concerned is drawing to a close. The position of the Minister of Defence, Sir Archdale Parkhill, in Warringah, which is creating wide interest, should be known on Wednesday. The Lahour candidate, Mr Pollard, hais won the Ballarat seat in Yictoria by over 500. The retiring Government member, Mr Stacey^ whose fate was long in doubt, expected to retain the Adelaide seat by over 3000 votes. The retiring Government member, Mr Lane, "retained the hard-fought Barton seat by over 2000 votes. The assistant-Ministers, Messrs Thorbyl and Hunter, have hoth been roelected. JThe Social Credit candidate for the Maranoa seat in Queensland appears to be unbeatahle.
