These steps have been takeh as a result of the refusal by 250 of the city's principal bakeries to reduce the price of bread and again to increase the size qf a loaf. Bakeries cjaim the price of flour is e^cessive. A conference of bakers and millers proved futile. The latter, howeyer, are agreeing to supply the Government with flOur under the market price. The distribution of bread has long been a serious social and economie problem, and a strong public demand has persistcd for a national government solution of the problem. The embargo is cxpected to last a month.
