IVORY SATIN GOWN FOR PUKETAPU BRIDE

KILKENNY— DALEY; St. Mary's Eoman Catholic church, Meeanee, was the scene of a very pretty wedding recently when Kathleen Julia, youugest daughter of Mrs T. Daley and the late Mr Daley, of Puketapu, was married to Francis Terence, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Patriek Kilkenny, of Basil road, Taradale. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fathers Riordan and Cullinan. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr James C. Daley, wore a gown of ivory satin beaute, made on slim fitting lines, the keart-shaped neckline and shoulders being finished with a trellis of satin. A long tulle veil which formed a second train fell fTOm a coronet of orange blossoms. She c'arried a bouquet of white roses, camellias, lily of the valley and maidenhair fern. Miss Kathleen Gleeson and Miss Edna Nicholson attended the bride and were dressed alike in gowns of apricot tulle mounted on satin with satin bands on the collar and edging theh em. Tbeir ha,ts were of beige pineapple straw trimmed with apricot velvet ribbon and liowers, a Jarge bow being arranged under the brim at the back. Each maid carried a bouquet of apricot and pastel-shaded flowers. Mr James Gleeson carried out the duties of best man and Mr W. Gleeson was the groomsman. The church had been beautifully decorated by Miss L. Kilkenny with bowls of arum lilies, white may and lily of the , valley. The Wedding March was played by Mrs Reid, of Na* pier, and during the ceremony solos were sung by Mrs Reid and Master Fatou, who gave a beautiful rendering of the "Ave Maria. " A reception was afterwards held in the Greenmeadows hall, where the bride 's inother assisted by Mrs M. Gleeson, sister of the bridegrooni, received the guests who numbered about two hundred. Mr W. Kilkenny was the toa-stmaster. The beautiful threetiered wdeding cake was the gift of th-e bride's sister, Mrs E. Curran, Dannevirke, and the bridal bouquet was by Mrs F. S. Byrne, Puketapu. Mr and Mrs F. Kilkenny left later in the day on their lioneymoon, a motor tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a saxe blue ensemble with hat and shoes of a deeper blue and other accessories to tone. Mrs T. Daley wore a gown of blaf-k marocain with msets of lace with a black hat und she carried a posy of rcd l'oscs. Mrs M. Gleeson wore a cocoa brown costume with brown hat and carried a posy of pink flowers. Among the relalives present were: Mrs E. Curran (Dannevirke), Miss L. Lvilkenny, Mr and Mrs W. Kilkenny, Mesdames M. Craven, W. Wright, T. French and R. Grahain, all from Palmerston North,. Mrs M. Curtain, J\Trs H. Franklin, Mrs P. Collinge, Mrs D. Dooney and Mr F. Scullion (Wellington).
