MISS JEAN HEYWARD GUEST AT FAREWELL
Th© Friendly Society's Hall, Hastings, was the scene of a farewell evening to Miss Jean Heyward, who is leaving Hastings to take up nursing in Carterton. Mrs. S. Geake acted as hostess. The evening was spent jn dancing to music play^d by Goruon Redward. Interspersed jvith the dancing were items given by Miss JD. Shapleski at tapdancing, Mr. Tom Tiiornburrow at his ever-popuiar magical tricks, Mr. Tom Banks in an- eccentric tap dance, and Mr. W. Mataira in vocal numbers. Each item was cleverly given and received loud applause. At the cmse of the evening everyone wished Miss Heyward success in her new profession, and all sang "For She'a a Jolly Good Fellow," with wholehearted gusto. Among those present were Misses J.
