OrmondviUe Scfiool. At a special meeting of the Ormondville School Committee, Mr H. J, Newling presided over a full attendanee. Mr Og H. Nikolaison has resigned the secretaryship, and Mr Erneast Cload was elected to the position. Mr H. Bolton was elected to iill the vacaut place on the committee. Peacc Memorial Hall. The work of lining the Peace Memorial Hall at Ormondville with wallboard is now Gompleted, and by excluding draughts has created a vast improvement in the coxnfort of the building, besides adding greatly to its inside appearance, Footlights are to bo installed at an early date. Takapau's Paddy's Market. A Paddy 's Market, held in the Public Hall, Takapau, on Thu'rsday eyening, was very successful, and raised a sum of between £20 and £30 for the local Blunket Society 's funds. The president, Mrs N. M. Paulsen, and hon. secretary, Miss Gamblo, were well supported by " the members of the Plunket committee in making the effort so successful. The stalls were well supplied with contributions of vegetables, farm produce, meat and sweets, and anything unsold at the close of the evening was disposed of by Mr C. Vigers, at a Dutch auction. The Boy Scouts, undcr the leadership of Mr Leigh Gooch, Scoutmaster, gaye a very creditable exhibition of scoutcraft, games and competitions. Waipawa Plunket Society. The pionthly meeting of the Waipawa Punket Society was attended by Mesdames Furmingep (president), EagleJ, i'owers, D. H. Edwards, Strang, Preston, Pepperell, Mason and tho secrecary, Mrs Spicer. The report of the nurses and the financial statempnt were read and adopted, The secretary reported that the "shop" and the copper trail had proved very successful. Mesdames Preston and Pepperell weie appointed as delegates to the geperal confexence to be held at Wellington on November 4 and 5. . Mesdames Strang and Mason were appointed visiting committee. Dr T. Seton Norris accepted appointment as medical adviser to the society. The following subseriptions were acknowledged: Mr and^ Mrs C. Harker, Mr and Mrs G. Hunt/ .10/each. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr D. H. Edwards for his donation of a shirt in connection with the copper trail. The competition was won by Mr F. Hayes. The secretary acknowledged receipt of a cheque for £11 14/from Elsthorpe, the proceeds of a dance, and the committee expressed their appreciation of the effort. successful Garden Party. Tho weather cleared up suflciently yesterday to permit of the garden party organised by Mrs MacGregor, Waipawa, held at her residence, there being a very large attendanee. Nuracrous competitions were decided, and a refreshing afternoon tea gave opportunities for social inter course. The results of the competitions are as foliows: — Butterfly hunt, Mrs Strang; quoits, Miss Frobath; chain-steppiug, Mrs Robertson and Mrs Eagle; cake (donated by Mrs Hunt), Miss D. Liddoll,
