An Apology Asked For
j. s.
HANNA-0L
Sir, — Mr Lowe has stated that he is willing to make any. land of public apology that may be required if his .assertion that the person who wrote the letter signed ' ' Toleration, ' ' which appeared in these columns, was not expelled from the Labour Party. That apology is now required. As there have been only two members expelled from the Hastings branch, and one has since been reinstated, he obviously referred to me. Mr Lowe knows perf ectly well that .there is not the slight.est possibijity of
the other member fiaving written thl letter under discussion, and, as I have piiblicly stated that I did not write it„ may I humbly request that he how f ulfil his promise if he wishes to retain his "strong conviction of the righteousaess - of his aims."-— Yours, etc.,
Waimarama, Oet. 30, 1937.
