WELLINGTON, Tkis Day. Tke first closure motion of tke present s'ession was moved by tke Primo Minister, tke Kt. Hon. M. J. Savage, in tke House of Kepresentatives yesteiday. Tkis action following tke moving of au amendment by tke Leader of tke Opposition, tke Hon. Adam Hamilton, 'dc-signed to reduce tke vote of £110,000 for tke Legislative Departmeut by £i0 as a protest against various aapects of Government policy. Tke vote for tke Legislative Departmenfc was tke first item on tke estimatos and tke procedure of tke House allows members to diseuss all departniental votes on tkis one subject. Discussion nad been proceeding tkrougliout tke day, and toward fivo o 'clock Mi Hamilton moved kis amendment. Tke text of ihe amendment was tkat tke vote skould be reduced by £10 as a protest against tke following points: Tke kuge expansion of Government departmonts, resulting from an unwarranted and dangerous incursion by tke State into private enterprise. • Tke increased number of State em•ployOes engaged in tvork of doubtlul value. . • Tke crippling -burden of additional taxatxcn imposed to cover tke cost of ^tate, aetivities, .
