Mr A. C. P. Fowler Concludes 40 Years' Service After 40 years' service jn the Posb and Telegraph Department, Mr. A. C. P. Fowler, of tbe Napier staff retires to-day. He joiued tho department at Hokitika, being transferred from there to Greymouth, then to Pahiatua, later to Napier and from tliere to Hastings, wJiero he remained for several years, after which he returnd to Napier. Mr. Fowler, at the age of 17, saw service with tke Seventh Contingent in tho Boer War, being the youngest noneommissioned officer in the New Zealand Force. Yesterday afternoon Mr. Fowler was presented with a leather bowl case, having a silver plate engraving, and a fountain pen by the chief postmaster, Mr. A. Pellow, on behalf of the fellow oificers of Mr. Fowleir. Mr. Fowler expressed appreciation and said that he would not b© leaving (Htwke'fi Bay. (
