CLARKIAS
The various colours in Clarksias make them ideal for garden decoration and also for indoor decoration. They are very easy to grow and are quite hardy. The seed can be sown at once, l sowing in rows a foot apart, and thin-
! ning the plants out to the same distance in the rows. The plants that are thinned can also be transplanted. Small clumps in tbe mixed border lend colour at a time when flowers are scrace. When about two inches high, it is a good plan to pinch out the tops and make them branch ; a few twiggy sticks help to support . them. It is hest to get them in separate colours as one can then blend the colours to harrnoni&e with the surroundings. They grow to about two feet high. The seed germinutes quickly, and should be sown about half an inch deep.
