Mrs B. Eeckin, has been appointed relieving headmistress at the Otane School, pending tho appointment of a permanent headmaster, Mr , A. J. Trevena having been transferred to Wellington. Mrs and Miss Eoach, Miramar, were the guests of Mr and Mrs- T. Roach, Otane, during the "week-end. • Miss Jnne Voyce, Wellington, spent the week-end with her" parents in Otane. Mr James Brunton Hutton, a former resident of Waipukurau, has passed away at Tauranga in his 88th. year. He was tho father of Mrs J. Atkins, who left Waipukurau a few years ago to reside in Tauranga.
