Rain Lends Confidence to Market ST0RTF0RD LODGE SALE A mixed yarding of 560 head of store cattle at Stortford Lodge yesterday met with a satisfactory sale^ in which a decided improvement was 6hown for two-year steers which made to £8 13/-. Competition. was better than it has been for some weeks and practically all lines were sold under the hammer. " Several lines of empty cows as fattening propositions were offered, mak--ing to £6 15/-. Two-year heifers ready for breeding brought £6. Confidence was shown in the market as the result of the rains. Realisations were as under:— On account of Waikonini Station, 25 Aberdeen Angus cows, stated to be empty j and in light store order, but a useful line, sold at £6. An entry of 23 dehorned Hereford cows, in medium to forward condition, and stated to be empty, being a useful fattening proposition. sold at £R 15/-. A draft of 47 yearling Aberdeen Angus steefs, a few showing a Hereford cross, being a small grown line but hardy, met the market at £5 10/-. On account of McKinuon Bros., Wairoa, and down by raik 62 dehorned small grown clean bred yearling Hereford steers were passed at £5 10/-. An entry of 23 mixed bred cows, with calves at foot, brought £7 6/-. The cows were in light condition and the calves were mixed in size Dowu :o'tf the high 'Putere country, 54 quite well grown two-year Aberdeen Angus steers, well wintered and in good store condition, being a useful line of young cattle, realised £8 15/-. An offering ot 13 quite well bred twoyear Aberdeen Angus heifers. in good condition and ready for breeding, met the market at £6 1/-.
