RESULTS OF CLASSES Following are the comments of Mr W. »Why te, judge of the working collies, on the leading dogs in each of these classes at the Hawke 's Bay Spring Show: — Mr R. J. MeDonkld' Boy; First in the dog (poppy) class, first in dog, jonior, novice and limit; third in dog, Colonial .bredj first in smooth-coated dog or bitch puppy (working dog section). A chummy little chapj good head but ears a bit fioppy yet; good body, legs, feet, coat and. tail. Mrs B. G. Teschmaker-Shute's Riot: Second in dog (poppy) junior, novice and limit; first in rough-coated dog or bitch puppy ("working dog. section), Pleasant head, but a shade fine, beautiful ear, carriage and sweet expression; shapely body but faulty tail; coat of good texture, lacking in feather and frill. Mr B. J. MeDonald'g King: lirst in dog, Colonial bred, open; first in smooth-coated dog or bitch puppy ("working' dog section). Nice well-bred looking head; kind expression, one eye temporarily clouded through slight accident; good quality ears, correctly set, but just a shade low at the .tips; neatly fitting neck, beautifully proportioiied body, turns just a shade in ■with front legs when moving, has density of coat and real good frill and feather, but showing age. Mr N. J. Wakely's Toss: Second in dog, junior, third in dog, open. A nice head, eaTS, legs and feet. A» fairly well-made dog all through, but a little on the plain side. Good coat but carries rather much brush on tail.^ Mr Spencer Dillon's Nell: First in bitch. novice and bitch limit; first in bitch Colonial bred; first in bitch open. Pleasing head and expression, too stodgy iri body, a little sickle-hocked, wears S fairly typical bearded coat. Mr N. J. Wakely's Fly: Second In bitch, Colonial bred, second in bitch, open. This dog scored over the winner in gait, body and limbs, bnt lost through showing cross-bred admixture. Mr B. J. McDonald's Lad: Second in dog, Colonial bred; second in dog, open; third in' dog, opCn (working dog section). Fair head and ears, but of rather dour expression, moderately wellshaped body but a little beavy in flank, good feet and limbs, tail a shade heavy. Mr D. Giffney's Bruce: Second in rongh-coated dog or bitch puppy (working dog section), third in dog, open. Fadry good head and ears, bnt a shade weak in expression; medium good body akd limbs, handicapped by most nneven coat. Mr 0. E. Brenchley's Scott# Third in rough-coated dog or. bitch (woTking dog section)* Hea^ly idiscounted through

being shown in poor form, dull, and lacking in substance. Mr J. Moroney's Tui: First in bitch, open (rough-coated). Fairly good skull, nice ears and pleasing expression, body too shalley, and in poor show form, coat too thin and bedraggled. Mr J. Moroney's Tip: Second in dog, open (rough-coated). Fairly good racy body, covering plenty of ground, good legs, feet, bone and tail, fair woather-resisting coat; plainness of head, ears and expression lost him a higher place. Mr B. Bichmond's entry: First in dog, open (smoothcoated), and cup for best in working section. Classic head and well-bred expression. Nice eyes, good quality ears correctly carried, good reachy arched well-fitting neck. Taken all round, were he a shade lengthier in limb and with slightly more tuck-up in iiank, he would be bordering on the ideal. Mr W. Struthers's Scott: Third in dog or .bitch puppy (smooth-coated). A cheery looking puppy with fairly good head, ears and coat, but rather clumsv in flank and carried tail much too gay, Mr C. E. Brenchley 's Joy: Second in dog or bitch (smooth-coated). Fairly good skull but most uneven ear carriage which mitigated against expression. Excels in body the best of all in the working section. Coat too harsh ahd bristly. Mr B. H. Liddle's Toss: Second in" bitch, open (smooth-coated). Fair skull, & shade weak in fore-face, pricked ears, fairly good body and limbs, coat too long on belly and thighs. Mr A. E. Hunt's Queen: First in bitch, open (smooth-coated). Stylish head and ears and expression. Fairy good neck, body and legs> but toes a bit scattered, coat carries over-much brush on tail and thighs. Mr A. E. Hunt's King: Second in dog, open (smooth-coated). Good body, limbs, tail and coat, but fails to win in head and ears and expression. Mr J. Moroney's Puss: Third in bitch, open (smooth-coated). Eather rounded in head, and ears set too low, has many good points, but too outsized in body. Mr Spencey Dillon's Boy: FiTst in bearded dog or bitch. A fairly presentable type all through. In the working brace, Mr J. Moroney's entry, which secured the preffiier award, was a well matched pair in build, coat and marking.
