WELLINGTON, Tliis Day. Canght by a plain-clothes constable after leaving thev Wanganella, Steve Yerandich, aged 36, -a seaman. was searched at the Customs office and was found to have two tins of ptepared opium tied to the right leg and one to tlie left. Letters in Chinese found in his cabin were used in evidence, and Yerandich was convicted and fined the minimum of £125, in default three months ' imprisonment.
