A dramatic episode which may have an important reaotion on Ffench intefnal politics occurre.d at the Lyons Civil Couft durifig a slauder aCtion agaihst Colonel de Ia Rocque by the Duc Pozzo di Borgo, one of the chief lieutenants in building up the Fascist CJfoix de Feu. Borgo alleged that de la Rocque accused him of false charges after the publication of an artiele in which Borga declared de la Rocque had received money from the Government Secfet Servioe funds. A former Premier, M* Tardieu, caused a sensation by stating in evidence that when he was Premier he regulafly subsidised de la Rocque from the Secret Service funds* De la Rocque received the funds on the ground that he required them to intensify recruiting for the Crois de Ffeu and start a national volunteer movement. Dq la Rocque, in evidence, said he received no money from Tardieu. Judgment was reserved.
