KILLED BY SHARK
Queensland Youth Attacked COMPANION LOSES AN ARM (Received 28, 11,50 a.m.) BRISBANE, Oet. 28, Nofman Girvan^ aged 18,- was killed by a shark while surfing at Coolangatta. Another youth, Jack Brinkley, was badly mauled and later had his left arm araputatfed at hospital. Memhers of the Lifo-Saving Club were out swimniing Xvhen the shark attaoked Girvan, inflicting terrible wounds. ' Brinkley and Gordon Doniger swam to Girvan, but he wai iso , badly toi'n that he was beyond aid, §o the pair made for.the beach. The monster then attacked Brinkley, tearihg his left shoulder and" leg. Joo Ddnigor, who was Ashore, returned to the water^ soiaed Brinkley and carried him to the hoach. Girvan '8 body has not been rccovered.
