1 Store Sheep Sale At . Stortford RAIN ENCOURAGES BUYERS

x A good ready market prevailed for store sheep at Stortford Lodge to-day when coinpetition was. keen and a strong demand skown, due to the beneficial raius. The yarding included a much larger percentage of shorn entries, Shorn two-tooth wetliers, in good store condition, having been well wintered, realised to 23/7. Well-grown, woolly lioggets which should shear out in good order, realised 32/-. Young Leicester cross ewes with sturdy lambs at foot sold- at 23/8. Aged ewes with lambs went to 19/1. Mixed sex fat and forward Southdown cross hoggets sold at 30/-. All lines met with a good sale and realisations were as under : — An offering of 62 Leicester crosa iimrtootk to four-year ewes, witk 58 nicelygrown lambs at foot, brougkt 23/8, all counted. . A bid of 24/9 secured a line of quite well grown ekorn four-tootk wethers, in good store order. A line of quite well grown unskorn Romney ewe koggets sold at 35/7. A draft of 219 well grown and well woolled Romney wether koggets, which skould come off tke shears in good condition. sold at 32/-. A draft of skorn maiden four-tootb ewes, in quite good order, brougkt '28/-. A line of 110 skorn four-tootk wethers, in ' quite good order, sold at 24/9. An entry of 60 mixed sex fat and forward Southdown cross woolly koggets, medium grown and in good order, brougkt 30/-. An entry of 180 medium grown skorn two-tooth wethers, in good etoro condition, having been well wintered, brougkt 23/1. A pen of 100 fat and forward medium grown woolly wether koggets. in hcalthv order, brought 39/1. On acconnfc of Mr W. J. Wai], 140 shorn fairly grown two-tooth wethers, in good store order, sold at 23/-. An entry of 63 aged. ewes wi.th 54 Down cross sturdy lambs at foot brought 19/1, all counted. A further entry on account of Mr W. J. Wall of 180 well-grown shorn two-tooth wethers in verv good condi•tion sold at 23/7.
