Thirteen peoi)le are seated in a room where a seance ia in progress, arranged by one of them, who hopes-to find the murderer of his close friend. In the clarl:ness, he himself is killed by a knify woi.ud. No ond enterss or leayjs the room and yet no knifc is there. The locale of the gripping drama is in India, with an inexplicable murder eommitted when 13 people are sitting around a tablo in the dark holding liands during a scance. Altbough the locnl police are batflcd, the mediuin takes a liand and employing her knowledge of mysticism and psychology, brings the cuiprit to justice. M.G.M. has assembled a remarkably fine cast, all featured players, and the able George Seitz directed. The cast ineludcs Dame May Whitty, who scored an outstanding triumph in "Nlght Must Fall,5j Madge Evans) Lewis Stone and Elissa Landi.
