Maun when James G. Heron was proceeded against for failing to supply, on request, the name and address of the driver of a motor-truek of which he was the owner and which was involved in an accident. A fine of 10/- with costs of the same amount was imposed. "This case is also brought as a warning," said the inspector wlien Norrnan J. Robson pleaded guilty to failing to give way to a fire engine. "It is the firsf prosecution of the kind to be brought here," added Inspector Mann. "Defend&nt apparently turned a corner to avoid the fire engine, but as it happened the engine turned the corner, too." Defendant, In evidence, said he had intended to pull in to the kerb, but a line of cars parked there compelled him to continue in front of the engine. He was convicted and discharged. For being in possession of an unlicensed firearni, B. W. D. Winchester was fined 10/- with costs 10/-. A fine of £4 with costs 10/- was imposed on W. J. Mahoney, a carrier, of Waipukurau, for operating a heavy notor vehicle carrying a greater loaci than it was licensed to carry. A fine of £1 with costs 10/- was impo'sed on Peter Lowe for operating a heavy inotor-vehicle carrying a greater load than it was licensed to carry.
