HASTINGS BRIDE ATTENDED BY TWO BRIDESMAIDS
HARVEY — BUSHBY Large bowls of lilac and pink cherry blossom decorated the Hastings Methodist Church last evening for the wedding of Ngaire Jean, elder daugliter of Mr and Mrs C. C. Bushby, Fitzroy Avenue, Hastings, and George Thoinas, second son of Mr and Mrs J. Harvey% of Havelock North. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell officiated at the ceremony aud Miss Napier presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, chose a gown of heavy oHwhite suede satin fashioned with a panelled skirt of which the back panel was continued to forrn. a long train. The corsage had a little cluster of gathers at the waist and a matching cluster at the shoulder of the long sleeves. The heart-shaped neckline was finished with a fancy lace collar and a silver girdle defined the waistline. She wore silver kid shoes, and her etnbroidered tulle veil with scalloped edge was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies. Two maids attended the bride, the Misses Mi'rie Pocknall (Lower Hutt) and May Bushton, whose gowns were fashioned alike of needlerun lace mounted on satin a shades of blossom pink and delphinium blue respectively Each gown had a eowled neckline in front and puffed sleeves and a sash of velvet with large batterfly bovf at tho back in a slightjy deeper shade than the gown. Velvet shoes were worn and halos of pleated stiffened net with txny velvet flowers, one in pink and the other in blue. Long lace mittens in the same shade were also worn and each maid carried a bouquet of pink and blue flowers with maidenhair fern. Mr Pat Harvey was the best man and Mr Bay Bushby the groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Bialto tea-rooms where a very happy wedding breakfast was enjoyed. The bridal table, on which stood the three-tiered wedding cake, was decorated with pink flowers. The guests were received by Mr and Mrs Bushby, the latter wearing a gown ' of brown marocain with inset lace panels% lace yolk and lace cowled. sleeves. She wore a brown ballibuntai straw hat, skunk stole and carried a bouquet of red flowers and ferns. Mrs J. Harvey, the bridegroom's m other, wore a gown of black flowered matelasse with a plain black coat in the same material. She wore a black hat and carried a bouquet of flowers in shades of red. When the bride and bri.degroom lef t by car for Auckland where the honeymoon will be spent, the bride travelled in an ensemblo of navy blue silk patterned with • white, The frock was trinimed witli a pleated white organdio frill edging the neck and the coat had Ihree-quarter length sleeves. She wore a smart navy toque with an eye-veil and cluster of red cherries at one side and carried navy gloves and handbag.
